[FLASH] KOSPI halted after an 8% drop led by Samsung and SK hynix; US stocks recover as Treasury yields fall

On Oct 15, the Korea Exchange triggered circuit breakers on the KOSPI and KOSDAQ after both fell about 8%. Samsung Electronics was down about 10% and SK hynix about 11%. Seoul Economic Daily cited a Gartner AI-impairment warning, CoreWeave bond stress and hot US CPI. Bloomberg's US close reported that the S&P 500 ended a three-day losing streak, chip stocks steadied after Huang's CoreWeave remarks, and the 10-year yield fell 10bp to 5.09%. This puts memory makers and AI-infrastructure debt at the center of rate-driven de-risking; watch Fed signaling and upcoming US megacap earnings.
