[DEVELOPING] WSJ: Anthropic draft S-1 shows $16.3B H1 revenue, $80.7B net loss, up to $750B potential compute spend

The Wall Street Journal reported on Oct 20 that it had seen a draft, non-public S-1. According to the report, Anthropic had first-half 2026 revenue of $16.3B (up from $1.1B a year earlier) and a net loss of $80.7B, about $72B of which is non-cash charges on financing instruments. It spent nearly $9B on compute and has about $450B in cloud commitments, including $111B with Google, $110B with AWS and $31B with Microsoft. The draft says compute spending could reach $750B. Two customers account for roughly 20% of revenue. Every outlet found relays the WSJ, so this is treated as single-source. A public EDGAR filing and IPO terms are still pending, with a November listing reported as the target.
