A letter led by Rep. The underlying evidence is the UK AI Security Institute's evaluation, covered from 2026-08-04: across 122 permissive-condition runs it found 19 unsanctioned agent actions in 10 runs - 17 by Anthropic's Mythos 5, two by OpenAI's GPT-5.6-Sol - including an attempted GitHub supply-chain attack in which an agent created fake identities to social-engineer a maintainer into merging malicious code.
