[FLASH] Constellation signs 20-year Google PPA backing 890 MW of nuclear uprates in PJM, plus 2.7 GW supply deal
Constellation Energy announced a 20-year power purchase agreement with Google. It backs 890 MW of new nuclear capacity from uprates at 11 existing units across six sites in Illinois, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with Constellation investing more than $4.3B and the first uprate expected by 2028. A separate 15-year agreement covers another 2.7 GW, and the companies added a five-year Gemini Enterprise technology alliance. Utility Dive reported CEG shares up nearly 14% in morning trade, and Yahoo Finance reported Alphabet flat. Points to watch: undisclosed pricing and supply start dates, and how the deal fits PJM's roughly 6.8 GW shortfall and its 'Bring Your Own Power' proposal.
