[UPDATE] Cyber-security demand thesis firms; desk restores CrowdStrike buy, keeps Palo Alto on watch

The AI-fear rotation into security software gained a corporate-demand corroborant this weekend: at the Qatar Economic Forum on Sept 20 Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser described a global enterprise 'patching wave' and defense race as AI models grow more capable. Sell-side targets kept rising into Friday (BofA $260, Stephens $280, Scotiabank $265, Wedbush $250 Outperform) on the back of CrowdStrike's Aug beat-and-raise (record $332.8M net-new ARR, $377M FCF, 26% revenue growth). The desk had demoted both CRWD and PANW to watch on the Sept 17 Bernstein call; on the fresh demand signal and CRWD's escape from that rating cut it restores CRWD to buy, while PANW stays on watch (Bernstein Market Perform, $351 target below price). The offsetting flag is valuation: CRWD trades ~41-45x sales with a consensus target (~$234-238) at or below the price -- a re-rating that needs each quarter to keep beating.
