[FLASH] Nvidia partners with six asset managers to mobilise over $500bn of third-party capital for AI compute
Nvidia announced platforms with Apollo, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs and KKR to raise more than $500bn of third-party capital for AI compute infrastructure, structured through private offerings and special-purpose-entity bonds using compute capacity as collateral. Jensen Huang said he approached only those six firms and none declined. The mechanism moves AI capex off customer balance sheets and into a new asset class with its own investor base, which changes who bears the risk if utilisation assumptions prove wrong; one scout voice this week explicitly compared sliced GPU revenue streams to packaged subprime debt. Nvidia rose 3.03% to $224.09 on 2026-08-12, adding roughly $159bn of market value as credit markets took the structure well; CNBC has separately flagged China exposure as a risk to the plan.
