[FLASH] OpenAI told investors its annualized revenue is near $50B, below the ~$68-70B reported in late September
The Financial Times reported that OpenAI told investors its annualized revenue was approaching $50B at the end of September, about $20B below figures circulated late last month. CNBC separately confirmed the figure through a person familiar, who cited 77% Q3 run-rate growth and 107% growth in enterprise. Reports put most of the gap down to accounting: the higher figure included partner revenue, to match how Anthropic counts its sales. Nvidia, Oracle, CoreWeave, Micron, AMD and Broadcom fell on Oct 8 and the Nasdaq Composite closed down about 1.25%; Fed rate-hike commentary added pressure the same day. Next to watch: whether this changes how investors treat AI-lab revenue as a demand signal for infrastructure spending.
