[UPDATE] Oracle Q1 FY27 stays the AI-capex referendum: $664B backlog, cash burn smaller than feared, held +4%

Oracle's Wednesday-close print remains the market's cleanest AI-capex test into the weekend: adjusted revenue $19.35B (+30% y/y), cloud infrastructure $7.4B (+121%), EPS $1.92, and a record $664B backlog after $30B of new AI-cloud contracts. Capex hit $28.5B, but ~$11.36B was covered by customer prepayments and free-cash burn came in at -$5.4B versus the -$9.56B feared, holding shares up ~4% after a ~38% slide from the June high. The better-than-feared cash axis tempered rather than resolved the debt-funded-buildout worry driving the recent risk-off tape. Watch the held $90-95B FY27 capex guide, ~$40B of planned raises, and whether the BBB- rating holds.
