[FLASH] Western Digital -10.2%, Seagate -12.9% intraday on Nikkei report Toshiba to double AI data-centre HDD output

Nikkei reported Toshiba plans to double hard-disk output capacity by FY2027 to meet AI data-centre demand; Western Digital closed $415.29 (-10.22%) on 24.3M shares after printing about -12.9% intraday, and Seagate fell a similar amount (intraday prints near $823). The move reprices the supply-constraint premium that carried the HDD duopoly through 2026; the NAND complex also softened (SNDK -3.79%, MU -2.05%) though TrendForce still sees NAND contract prices +15-20% QoQ in 4Q26. Watch WDC's late-October print (Oct 22 vs Oct 29 unconfirmed) and any Toshiba capex disclosure.
