[FLASH] TSMC posts sixth straight record profit, guides Q4 to $52.3–54.3B; CEO says AI demand far exceeds supply
TSMC's Oct 15 filing showed Q3 revenue of US$46.72B, up 41.2% year on year, and net income of NT$763.06B, up 68.7%. Gross margin was 66.4%, down from 67.7% in Q2, which management attributed to the early 2nm ramp. Q4 revenue guidance is US$52.3–54.3B, and the company now expects full-year 2026 growth of about 44%. On the call, CEO C.C. Wei said AI demand is 'still far above our capability today to supply' and that TSMC is being 'prudent' in its 2027 planning for consumer segments. Yahoo Finance reported the shares slipped about 2% in a broader chip selloff. Things to watch are the 2nm ramp, overseas-fab margin dilution, and 2026–2028 capex, which management said will be well above the prior three years.
